The Creative Writing Cafe

Welcome to The Creative Writing Cafe Meetup. Our group strives to be a friendly, inspirational, and safe place dedicated to fostering creativity among writers of novels, poetry, plays, screenplays, short stories, non-fiction, and all those who are passionate about the arts. Offering feedback or sharing your work is optional.

Whether you're a seasoned artist or simply someone who loves to be inspired by the art of writing, our community is here to encourage and celebrate creativity.

The Creative Café is FREE but any purchase to help support the Sleeping Cat Bakery (160 7th Ave., between 19th and 20th Street) is appreciated, so come join us and participate, or sit back and relax quietly with a book, a cup of coffee, or a slice of pie in the company of fellow travelers!

Latecomers welcome, come and go as you please.

MONDAYS
4:00 pm—4:30 pm: Intros and Chit Chat
4:30 pm—5:30 pm: Sit and Write (or read)
5:30 pm—6:00 pm: Share work (optional), Constructive Feedback

Nearest train: #1 to 18th Street and 7th Avenue but you can also take:

The F to 14th or 23rd street and 6th Avenue; the A, C, E to 14th street and 8th Avenue; the C, E to 23rd and 8th Avenue; the L to 14th street and 8th Avenue

*Because space is limited, members who RSVP and don’t show up without canceling RSVP, or who are inactive for 3 months or more will be gently removed from list to make room for new members or members who want to attend. This is not a “ban” and members may rejoin at any time.
