The SF Japantown Cherry Blossom Festival is one of the largest celebrations of Japanese culture in the United States. Held in Japantown, along Post Street between Laguna and Fillmore Streets, this festival offers a deep dive into the traditions and artistry of Japanese and Japanese American communities.

Save the dates! The Cherry Blossom Festival in San Francisco will take place over two exciting weekends: April 12-13 & 19-20, 2025. Festival goers can enjoy a range of activities throughout the day, with festivities running from morning to evening.

## Festival Highlights You Can’t-Miss

The San Francisco Cherry Blossom Festival is packed with unique experiences that showcase the beauty and artistry of Japanese culture. Be sure to catch:

  • The Grand Parade featuring Taiko drummers, traditional dancers, and vibrant festival floats. Marvel at the stunningly decorated wagons, colorful kimonos, and lively atmosphere that fills the streets of San Francisco.
  • 2025 Parade Route
    The Grand Parade will depart the Civic Center Plaza at 1:00 pm., proceeding up Polk Street to Post Street, and ending in Japantown at Post and Fillmore Streets.
  • Martial arts demonstrations, where masters of judo, kendo, and aikido showcase their skills. Watch incredible displays of strength and precision, and even try a beginner’s class!
