Earth Day Work Day: Northerly Island

Details
Thank you for checking out our Earth Day event! We're excited to be doing work with the Chicago Parks Department once again, this time at Northerly Island, near the museum campus.
Northerly Island makes up a substantial amount of the re-wilded natural areas in Chicago. Keeping them pristine helps local wildlife, and allows Chicagoans to retreat from the concrete and fast pace of urban life into a calming shared space.
In past events in these areas, we've put in new trails, removed protective cages from grown native plants, and removed invasive species. This event will reprise our previous experiences: the invasive species we pull at this event will be used to decorate an art installation we helped build a trail to two years ago. Your work will leave a lasting impact on Chicago's landscape, and saving the city thousands of dollars in labor. This year, we plan for our event to be at least as transformational.
Everyone should wear sturdy hard soled foot gear and dress for the weather. Long pants are encouraged as are outer layers (light jacket or sweatshirt) that can be removed if / after you heat up. Guests should also be sure to bring a re-fillable water bottle. We will provide gloves.
You must complete this waiver before volunteering:
